For Our Visitors

All are welcome to our Sunday Worship.  If you will be visiting, we’ll be so glad to have you with us!  Please fill out a Visitor’s Card which can be found in the pew racks and place it in the collection plate, or hand it to an usher, so that we can get to know you.

New Members Class

Joining Church membership is God’s way to connect us to the Body of Christ where we can grow spiritually and at the same time utilize our gifts.  In Acts 2:27 we read, “And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”  There will be a New Members Class forming in January.  If you’re not a member and are interested in joining the FPC in Blackwood membership, please talk to Pastor Yousef, any of the elders, or simply sign up on the sheets on the narthex and the board room tables.   If you have any suggestions or would like to talk to the Men’s Ministry Committee, please see Gerry Hazzard, Russ Long, John Forrest or Brian Salmon.

Presentation on Egypt Mission

Do you want to pray for the persecuted Church in Egypt?  Do you want to be a part of what is God doing in the Middle East?  During our Coffee Hour immediately following worship this Sunday, January 21st, Pastor Yousef will lead a presentation followed by a discussion on our 2018 Mission Trips.  Come to be encouraged and challenged by the work of the Holy Spirit.

New Outreach Opportunities

Every church in our Presbytery, including ours, has received a gift of $5,000 from the Presbytery of West Jersey.  This gift is to be used to expand the local congregations’ community outreach programs and initiatives.  Everyone is invited to a special meeting at the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, January 28th following worship, to discern the best ways to utilize this gift.  So, please plan to join us and bring your new, fresh, and out-of-the-box ideas to do more for the glory of God in our community.  Refreshments will be provided.

Annual Meeting

By order of the Session, the Annual Meeting of the Congregation & Corporation will be held on Sunday, February 4th, immediately following worship in Fellowship Hall during a potluck luncheon.  The Annual Reports and Audit for 2017 will be available for review and will be discussed at the meeting along with a proposed modification of our By-Laws as pertains to board membership.

Love Your Community Sunday

Pastor Yousef will lead a service of recognition and a special time of prayer for our first responders during our worship service on February 11th.  The Mayor will attend, and the Gloucester Township Police Department, Fire Companies and EMS have been invited to attend.  We will host a reception in Fellowship Hall following the service ~ please bring a dish to share.  This is our opportunity to thank the police, fire companies and EMS for their tireless efforts servicing our community.

Men’s Breakfast

The second Men’s Breakfast was held December 2nd.  We enjoyed a tasty breakfast and fellowship followed by Rich Hojnowski sharing a bit of his journey of faith.  We finished up with reading and discussion of Psalm 92:12-15.  It was, once again, a rewarding time of supporting each other as men in God’s church.  Our next Men’s Breakfast will be March 3, 2018.  Mark your calendars.  It’s time well-spent, the food is pretty good and the discussion enlightening!

There is a sign-up sheet available in both the narthex and board room.  Please sign up if you are planning to attend.   If you have any questions/suggestions/ideas, please see the Men’s Ministry Committee:  Russ Long, Gerry Hazzard, John Forrest and Brian Salmon.

Bible Study

Pastor Yousef is offering a weekly Bible Study every Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Every follower of Jesus should attend a small group Bible study where God uses these opportunities to deepen our understanding of His Word and take our faith to the next level.  This year, Rev. Yousef will be leading a study on Paul’s Letter to the Philippians, “Be Joyful:  Even When Things Go Wrong You Can Have Joy.”  Sign-up sheets are available on the board room and narthex tables.  Please sign up if you’re planning to attend.  Invite a friend!

We are asking for mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, and socks for children in need to help them keep warm this winter.  If you feel led to help out, please deposit your items in the basket in the narthex.

ShopRite cards are available for purchase in the narthex every Sunday after worship.  Proceeds benefit our Kitchen Fund.

If you order from Cheez Pleez, don’t forget to mention our church so we can receive a percentage of your purchase price!

The Board would also like to thank the congregation for its awesome generosity every month with the Deacons Fund of Compassion offering.  Your giving enables the Deacons to continue supporting The Unforgotten Haven, IHOC Mentor Night, holiday baskets for needy families, and much, much more.

The 2017 flower chart has been posted on the bulletin board outside the narthex.   The price for next year remains the same.  Please sign up for a date today!  If you have any questions, ask a Deacon.  Thank you to Philis Notley and Sunrise Florist for providing our beautiful flowers each week!
